Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Looking to be recognized by passing the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) test. This presentation provides detailing on the most challenging parts of the certification. Most of this session will focus on skills necessary to be productive on Kubernetes as a developer. We will cover details around the test itself in how to be productive in the short timeframe allowed for the test, such as:

  • VI skills and configuration
  • Time management skills
  • Test prep and what to expect

This workshop will include practical kubernetes skills such as using the kubernetes generates to quickly create the objects or yamls necessary to perform each task. This lecture will provide coverage on the following topics with resources necessary to be successful with the KCAD test:

  • Persistence Volumes and Persistence Volume Claims (PVC)
  • Deployment Rollback Strategies
  • Networking skills
  • Intra Pod Contain communication
  • Working with ENV, Secrets and ConfigMaps
  • Heavy focus on Pod Design

Ken is a distributed application engineer. Ken has worked with Fortune 500 companies to small startups in the roles of developer, designer, application architect and enterprise architect. Ken's current focus is on containers, container orchestration, high scale micro-service design and continuous delivery systems.
